The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?

Love Mallorie was born from a place of love, creativity, and a deep desire to build something meaningful for my family. After becoming a mum, my perspective shifted - Suddenly, I was more motivated than ever to create a life filled with purpose, flexibility and passion. I wanted to show my daughter that you can follow your heart and build something beautiful from the ground up.

The name Love Mallorie is a tribute to that love; for my little girl, for the journey I experienced through motherhood, and for the joy I find in creating things that bring happiness to others. With every product I design, there’s intention, care, and a little piece of my heart.

This business isn’t just a brand - it’s a reflection of my story, my family and the dreams I'm chasing every day.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?

Love Mallorie began the way many great things do - With a messy home, a million ideas, and a baby who made my heart explode. After becoming a mum, I wanted to do more than just a 9-5. I craved something creative, something mine, and something that let me show up for my daughter and myself.

One day (probably in pyjamas, let’s be honest), I started sketching designs during nap time. What began as a little passion project quickly grew into a brand full of personality, colour, and heart. I wanted to create something special and practical for all mums.

There was no big plan - just a lot of passion, late-night googling, and trial and error. And somehow, through the chaos of mum life and big dreams, Love Mallorie was born.

The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?

Honestly, the biggest breakthrough for me with Love Mallorie wasn’t a massive viral moment or overnight success - it was realising that people actually cared about what I was creating.

I remember the first time someone I didn’t know placed an order - not a friend, not my mum, not someone who felt obligated. Just a real person who found Love Mallorie and connected with it. That was the moment everything shifted. It made me realise this little dream of mine had legs, and it could actually go somewhere!

From there, it was the little wins that added up, the kind reviews, people tagging my products and sharing with their friends and families. That’s when I knew I was building more than just a brand - I was building a community.

That quiet but powerful belief that “I can really do this” was the moment everything changed.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

I don’t always - but I’m doing my best, and that’s more than enough.

Running Love Mallorie while being a mum is a bit like juggling building blocks, snacks, and a to do list that never ends. Some days, I’m on top of the world - orders packed, content created, toddler happily entertained. Other days, we’re all in our pyjamas at 2pm and I’m answering emails with one hand while wiping sticky fingers with the other.

The truth is balance doesn’t always look “perfect”. It looks like working during nap times, late nights, and early mornings. It’s choosing family when they need me, and choosing my dream when I’ve got the space to chase it. It’s messy, magical, and full of love - and somehow, it works.

At the heart of it all, my daughter and my fiancé are my biggest motivation. They are the reason I started and the reason I keep going, and a reminder that even on the chaotic days, I’m building something special for our future.

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Love Mallorie has been the most rewarding rollercoaster I’ve ever jumped on, but it definitely came with a few bumps along the way.

One of the biggest challenges? Figuring everything out from scratch! I had no business degree, no marketing team - just a big dream, a lot of googling and a stubborn streak. From learning how to set up a website to handling packaging disasters (and the occasional toddler forcing me to cuddle her teddies before she has the ultimate meltdown), it’s been a serious learning curve.

Another challenge was the mum guilt. Trying to give 100% to my business and 100% to my daughter and not forgetting to be a present partner mentally and physically to my fiancé, it felt impossible at times. But I’ve learned to give myself grace, to ask for help, and to celebrate the small wins - even if that’s just getting through the day in one piece.

Every challenge has taught me something valuable. And looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing - because those hard moments helped shaped Love Mallorie into the heart-let brand it is today.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

I’m going to start with the pros (because positivity first, always!)

The freedom and flexibility; I get to work around my daughters schedule - whether that’s during nap time or after bedtime with snacks and a cup of tea in hand.

Creative Control: Every product, post and design is mine - I get to pour my heart into everything without needing approval from a boss.

Pride and purpose; There’s nothing quite like seeing someone love something you have made, it makes the hustle totally worth it!

Personal growth; I’ve learned SO much! From marketing, website building to shipping logistics and just believing in myself. It’s like a crash course in becoming your own inspiration.

And now for the cons (because we keep it real)

It’s hard to switch off; When your business lives in your phone, your house, and your brain.. boundaries can blur.

Unpredictability; One month can be buzzing, the next can be a lot quieter. It’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions and income.

Wearing all the hats; Designer, customer service, photographer, social media manager, packer, accountant... and oh yeah, still being a mum!

But even with the challenges, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Love Mallorie gives me freedom to dream, create, and build something meaningful - for me, my family and my customers.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

The journey so far has been wild, messy and incredible - I feel like we’re just getting started.

I have so many exciting ideas bubbling away behind the scenes. From new product drops (that I know you’re going to love), to fresh designs, fun collabs, and maybe even a little rebrand glow up. It’s all about growing with the Love Mallorie community.

Long term? I’d love to take this little brand beyond the kitchen table. Think pop-up stalls, workshops and maybe even a cosy little studio space where creativity, chaos and coffee can all live happily together.

But no matter how big we grow, Love Mallorie will always stay true to it’s roots: full of heart, full of support and made with love - always!
